How does it work?

The idea is simple. When companies want to promote their goods or services, advertising seems to be one of the best way to do so. Advertising companies like AllAdvantage will sell these companies "advertising slots". These are actually advertising bars (ad bars for short) that run on users terminals. At the same time, the advertising companies pay users a portion of the amount they earn. As a surfer, you'll have nothing to lose! In fact, you can earn money for free!
But wait! How much are they paying you exactly? The amount that each ad companies pay you generally lies in the region of $0.40 to $1.00 per hour of surfing. Now that does seems very little. However, your main bulk of money actually comes from the "referral program".

        What is a referral program?

Let's say you have signed up for one of the "Get Paid to Surf" program. After using it, you find that it is a great idea. You email your friends and tell them about this great way of earning cash on the internet. Now, they have their chance of making free money too. But shouldn't you be given some credit for introducing them to join the program? The answer is - you do! For all the programs, you can tell your friends to name you as their referer. This enables you to earn money as the same time as they do!
Confused? Let me give you an example. Let's say you joined and later refer 5 friends to join. pays you $0.60 per hour for surfing and $0.30 per hour when your friends are surfing! That means for every hour that you and your friends surf, you'll be paid $2.10. If you and your friends surf 10 hours per month, you would be getting $21! The good news is, it doesn't stop here. If your friends have their referrals, you'll be paid when their referrals (commonly termed as your indirect referrals) surf the net! What's more, this system of indirect referrals goes down at least 3 levels deep, with up to 5 levels for some programs. In practice, you could be earning thousands of dollars per month! But, do not spam!

What is spam?

Simply put, a spam is an e-mail message that you send to someone without their consent. It's like junk mail, only in electronic form. Imagine recieve tons of junk mails in your mailbox each day. Now that is irritating. Spam is worse than that. Not only does it flood your inbox, it also waste your time to read it and discard it. So, no spam please.
In general, there are three main types of spam: Usenet, message board and e-mail. Usenet and message board spam are messages sent or posted which are unrelated to the topic of discussion of the particular news group or message board. E-mail spam is any electronic mail message that is addressed to a recipient with whom the initiator does not have an existing business or personal relationship and is not sent at the request of, or with the express consent of, the recipient.

Currently, anti-spamming legislation has already taken effect in several states in the US and is under debate in many others. The first state to pass the anti-spamming legislation was Washington.
